Men's Soccer Tops Penn State Berks, 2-0

IMMACULATA, Pa.
- Immaculata University's men's soccer team topped Penn State Berks, 2-0, in its final non-conference contest of the season Wednesday afternoon at Draper Walsh Stadium.

The win improves Immaculata's record to 2-4-3 while Penn State Berks slips to 1-8.

The Mighty Macs got two goals, five minutes apart, midway through the first half, and held on for the shutout victory. Mitchell Torh got things started in the 23rd minute as Alan Lorentz' indirect kick bounced off the Nittany Lions' wall for a waiting Torh to foot in the goal. Kyle Craig scored just over five minutes later as he beat the Penn State Berks defender to his right, and tallied his third goal of the season.

Immaculata's midfield and defense held Penn State Berks to just one shot for the contest, while the Mighty Macs took 16. Immaculata also led 5-1 in corner kicks.

Immaculata goalkeeper Stone Gahagan made just one save in 86 minutes to the win, while Chad Mascitelli played the final four minutes for the Mighty Macs. Chris Beatty played the full 90 minutes for the Nittany Lions, recording five saves.

Immaculata opens its Colonial States Athletic Conference schedule on Saturday, hosting Cabrini at 1 p.m.
