DOYLESTOWN, Pa. - Immaculata University's women's volleyball team dropped both of its matches in a tri-match hosted by Delaware Valley College Saturday. Immaculata fell to host Delaware Valley, 3-0, in the first match of the day, and followed that up with a 3-2 loss against Lancaster Bible.
The Mighty Macs (2-7) fell to the Aggies (10-2) by set scores of 25-15, 25-22 and 25-14. Immaculata let its match against Lancaster Bible (3-9) slip away with scores of 25-21, 20-25, 23-25, 25-16 and 15-8.
Jayme Lenosky had a team-high nine kills and added seven digs against Delaware Valley.
Kathleen Haefner amassed 14 assists and contributed six kills.
Courtney Sahm controlled the Mighty Macs' defense with a team-best 14 digs.
For the Aggies, Kaitlyn Olsen had 12 kills, and Amy Estep made a match-high 16 digs. Jaki Blood recorded a double-double wiht 11 assists and 10 digs, while Amy Scordato also contributed 11 assists.
In their second match against Lancaster Bible, the Mighty Macs came back after losing the first set to claim the second and third sets, 25-20 and 25-23.
Lenosky registered her first double-double of the season as the senior middle hitter tallied 12 kills and 17 digs. Both Sahm and
Katiemarie Gale made 14 digs, and
Nicole Preziuso added six kills and nine digs.
Lancaster Bible was paced by Elissa Hunsberger's triple-double performance of 12 kills, 17 assists and 17 digs. Jenae Almas recorded a double-double on 11 kills and 13 digs. Lauren Heliger led the Chargers with 18 kills and Lauren Hurd and Brittney Becker both amassed 19 digs.
Immaculata travels to Penn State Berks on Wednesday, Sept. 23, for a 7 p.m. first serve.
