LA PLUME, Pa. - The Immaculata University men's tennis team picked up its first Colonial States Athletic Conference win this afternoon as it defeated host Keystone College, 6-3. It marked the Mighty Macs first-ever conference victory.
Immaculata (1-7, 1-3 CSAC) was down 2-1 after Keystone (0-4, 0-3 CSAC) won No. 1 and 3 doubles, 8-2 and 8-3, respectively. Immaculata's
Dave Harlan and
Nick Tarlecki captured the doubles point at the No. 2 position by downing John Moran and Brian Jonas, 8-1.
The Mighty Macs secured the victory by taking five of six singles matches, winning at the 1 though 4 and 6 positions. Tarlecki defeated Phil Deltorto, 6-3, 6-4, in the top flight.
Bobby DeYoung took a 6-1, 6-2 match against Sean Hanahue at No. 2 singles while Harlan make quick work of Moran at No. 3, 6-0, 6-1.
Demetrios Vlahos won his match at No. 4 singles, 6-2, 6-3, against Jonas, and
Andre Brooks won his match opposite Keith Garubba in a tie-breaker, 6-3, 2-6, 11-9.
Immaculata returns home on Monday, March 30 against Penn State Berks at 3:30 p.m.
