IMMACULATA, Pa. – Immaculata University's men's tennis team dropped its home opener to Ursinus College by a 9-0 decision Tuesday afternoon in non-league action.
Ursinus picks up its first win of the season, improving to 1-3, and Immaculata drops to 0-4 overall, 0-1 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference.
Nick Tarlekci fell 6-4, 6-2 to Jason Zerbe at the No. 2-singles position, while Dave Harlan fell to Josh Hoolaman, 6-3, 6-1, in the No. 3 spot. Demetrios Vlahos, playing in the No. 4 spot, dropped his match to Joseph Ellwood, 6-1, 6-2. Michael Pancoast and Andre Brooks each took a game in their sets at No. 5 and 6 singles, respectively.
The tandem of Harlan and Tarlecki won two games against Bennett MacLauchlan and Phillip Ricci at the top doubles position, but ended up losing 8-2.
Immaculata returns to action on Thursday, March 19, when it travels to Elizabethtown. First serve is slated for 3:30 p.m.
