Immaculata Men's Soccer Drops Game To Rosemont, 2-1

IMMACULATA, Pa. – Immaculata's second half offensive flurry was unable to produce the tying goal, as Rosemont College defeated the Mighty Macs, 2-1, in a Colonial States Athletic Conference men's soccer contest Saturday afternoon at Draper Walsh Stadium.

The Ravens (4-6, 2-3 CSAC) scored twice in the first half, as Will McLaughlin collected a loose ball in front of the cage and pushed it past the keeper in the 23rd minute. Rodney Aguirre scored was would prove to be the game-winning goal for Rosemont 4:48 before intermission as he got the rebound off his own shot and found the back of the net.

The Mighty Macs' finally broke through in the 58th minute as Alan Lorentz found a waiting Kyle Craig, who scored his fourth goal of the season. Immaculata played the majority of the last 10 minutes of the contest in the offensive zone, and despite several attempts, was not able to net the tying goal.

Immaculata outshot Rosemont, 18-8, as Lorentz finished the contest with a team-high six shots and Mitchell Torh took four. The Mighty Macs also held a 4-2 edge in corner kicks.

IU goalkeeper Stone Gahagan made two saves, and Ravens' keeper Ron Vogelei recorded eight stops to earn the win.  

Immaculata returns to action on Tuesday afternoon at 4 p.m. hosting Centenary.
