GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa. – A late second-half goal from Kerrin Doran lifted Gwynedd-Mercy to a 1-0 women's soccer victory over Immaculata in the Colonial States Athletic Conference opener for both schools on Tuesday.

The Griffins finally broke through in the 81st minute as Doran buried home a well-placed corner kick off the foot of Melissa Maguire. 

The Mighty Macs (0-5-2, 0-1 CSAC) had their opportunities as the Griffins (3-5, 2-0 CSAC) held only a one shot advantage (12-11). 

Jessica Gaburo made four stops in net for Immaculata, and Kristie Pollock notched six saves for her first shutout of the season for Gwynedd-Mercy. 

Immaculata travels to Keystone on Saturday, Sept. 27, for another league contest. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
