IMMACULATA, Pa. - Jayme Lenosky tallied a match-high 12 kills and added two blocks but it wasn't enough as visiting Bryn Mawr swept Immaculata, 3-0, Monday evening at Alumnae Hall. the Owls (8-5) earned the sweep by scores of 25-18, 25-22 and 25-13. The Mighty Macs drop to 1-6 overall.
Immaculata came on strong in the first set, leading 9-6 early in the stanza. Bryn Mawr won six of the next seven points to gain the 12-10 advantage, and held the upper hand the remainder of the set.
The second set was the tightest of all three sets. Down 14-9, the Mighty Macs strung together three consecutive points, including two from Lenosky, to trail just 14-12. Immaculata eventually tied the set at 18-all. However, the Owls put the set away 25-22, for a 2-0 advantage.
The Mighty Macs fell behind early in the third set, 17-6, and never regained momentum.
Lenosky totaled 12 kills, five digs and two blocls on the night, while Kathleen Haefner recorded her fourth double-double of the season with 18 assists and 13 digs. Nicole Preziuso chipped in five kills and five digs.
Bryn Mawr was led by Katie Merrill's 10 kills and three blocks. Elizabeth Sinclair amassed eight kills and a match-high 14 digs, while Katie Solook also tallied 11 digs. Emma Wisniewski-Barker set up 26 kills in the winning effort.
The Mighty Macs next take on league rival Rosemont on Wednesday, Sept. 24. The match is slated to begin at 7 p.m.
