IMMACULATA, Pa. - The Immaculata volleyball team fell short in its effort to win its first Colonial States Athletic Conference match of the season, as the Mighty Macs dropped a 3-1 decision to Philadelphia Biblical University in the league-opener for both programs.
New to the conference this season, the Crimson Eagles secured their first league win by overcoming the Mighty Macs in four sets, 25-20, 22-25, 25-12, 25-13. The win gives PBU an 8-5 overall and 1-0 CSAC record while the Mighty Macs fall to 1-4, 0-1.
Immaculata was led by Jayme Lenosky's nine kills and four blocks, and she also added 12 digs. Nicole Preziuso amassed eight kills and 10 digs for the match. Terri Reynolds controled the defense with a team-high 16 digs. Kathleen Haefner registered 20 assists and nine digs.
PBU was led by senior Becky Williams who tallied game highs in both kills and digs, finishing the evening with 17 each, to go with two service aces. Rebekah Morrison and Carly Plank also finished with double digit kills, going for 14 and 10, respectively. Katy Kutzner chipped in 12 digs while Tanya Jendrek ending the evening with 10.
The volleyball team continues play at home this Thursday against PSU Berks in non-conference action at 7:00 pm.
