Men's Basketball Pulls Out 82-75 Win Against Marywood

IMMACULATA, Pa.
- Immaculata's men's basketball team snapped its three-game losing streak by defeating Marywood, 82-75, on Monday night.

It marked the Mighty Macs first Colonial States Athletic Conference victory this season and improves Immaculata to 2-3 overall and 1-1 in the league. Marywood falls to 5-4 overall and 1-2 in the CSAC.

Kyle Finklea registered a double-double for the Mighty Macs with 25 points and 12 rebounds. Sean Fordham added 15 points and six rebounds. Julius Lopez and Darnell Forde each chipped in 11 points while Forde added eight rebounds.

The Pacers were led by Sidney Tharpe's 25 points. Joshua Pena recorded 15 points, and John Foreman contributed 14 points in the effort.Matthew Medici led Marywood on the glass with eight rebounds and finished with eight points.

Immaculata led by three, 65-62, with 5:23 remaining in the contest when the Mighty Macs began to pull away on a 9-3 run over 1:52. However, Immaculata's 74-65 advantage was short-lived as Marywood outscored the Mighty Macs 10-2 during the next 2:39, and the Mighty Macs led by just one, 76-75, heading into the contest's final 1:06.

Julius Lopez sunk a jumper and Finklea was 4-for-4 for the foul line during the final minute of action, and that would seal the win for the Mighty Macs. The Pacers layup by Prince Blacknall at the 1:06 mark would be all they would get for the final 82-75 margin.

Immaculata will be in action for the final time before the calendar flips to 2009 on Dec. 16 when the Mighty macs travel to Eastern for a 7 p.m. tip.
