Men's Soccer Comeback Falls Short At Cabrini, 2-1

RADNOR, Pa. - Immaculata men's soccer had its five-game winning streak snapped Wednesday afternoon as the Mighty Macs comeback attempt fall short against Cabrini, 2-1.

Immaculata now sits at 5-4-2 overall and 1-1 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference while Cabrini improves to 7-2-2 overall, 2-0 CSAC.

It was a scoreless contest for the first 63 minutes before the Cavaliers' Andrew Jacobs pushed a pass from Justin McCall past Immaculata goalkeeper Zach Oas from five yards out to break up the stalemate. Less than a minute later, Jacobs again saw an opportunity and netted a goal at 64:51 off an Evan Hanauer assist.

The Mighty Macs quickly responded as Kieran Keelan headed a cross from Gio DeMartini into the corner of the far post 66 minutes into the contest, bringing Immaculata within one goal, 2-1.

Cabrini held a 22-17 advantage over Immaculata in shots, and the two squads were even in corner kicks with six apiece.

Oas finished the contest with 10 saves. Cabrini goalkeeper Bryan Johnson registered 11 saves to record the win.

Immaculata returns home on Saturday, Oct. 11, hosting Neumann at 1 p.m.
