Baptist Bible Nips Immaculata, 1-0

IMMACULATA, Pa. – The Immaculata women's soccer team (2-6-2, 2-2 CSAC) lost a 1-0 decision to Baptist Bible on Saturday, Oct. 4, at Draper Walsh Stadium. The Lady Defenders broke up the deadlock in the 75th minute for the win.

The Lady Defenders' Sandy Richie scored what proved to be the game-winning goal at the 74:46 mark. Erin Law advanced the pass to Richie who dribbled down the field and around an IU defender before burying the ball in the right corner past a diving Jessica Gaburo.

Immaculata held an 11-8 advantage in shots, and the two squads each registered six shots in the second half. Gaburo made five saves in the contest. Baptist Bible (8-1, 4-1 CSAC) goalkeeper Melanie Williams was challenged throughout the contest and recorded eight saves to preserve the win for her fifth shutout.

Immaculata travels to Cabrini on Tuesday, Oct. 7, at 6:30 p.m.
