SWARTHMORE, Pa. - The No. 25-ranked Swarthmore men's soccer team defeated visiting Immaculata, 3-1, on Wednesday evening in non-conference action.
The Mighty Macs even their record at 7-7-2 overall, while the Garnet improve to 11-2-1.
Swarthmore led 1-0 at the half after Jeffrey Kusher scored on a header from a free kick by Micah Rose in the 11th minute.
Yoi Tibbetts tallied the game-winner for Swarthmore on an assist from Dylan Langley at 60:06. Langley then added the third score of the night at 69:04, unassisted.
Bryan Foster prevented the shutout, as he put the Mighty Macs on the scoreboard with 37 seconds remaining in the contest.
Richard Crist started the contest in net for the Mighty Macs and played the first half, allowing one goal and making two saves.
Stone Gahagan started the second half and played 28:16, making four stops and allowing two goals. Jimmy Capser then came on and played the final 16:44, recording two saves. David D'Annunzio played a full 90 minutes for Swarthmore in goal, making two saves for the victory.
Immaculata was outshot by a 22-8 margin, but the Mighty Macs did hold a 4-2 advantage in corner kicks.
Immaculata returns to Colonial States Athletic Conference play on Saturday, Oct. 25, traveling to Centenary for a 3 p.m. start.
