Field Hockey Falls To Neumann, 3-2

ASTON, Pa. – Immaculata's field hockey lost to Neumann College, 3-2, on Saturday afternoon in Colonial States Athletic Conference action.

The Mighty Macs now sit at 4-10 overall and 2-5 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference.  Neumann stands 7-10 overall and 6-1 in conference play.

Neumann's Lauren Hood scored first at 9:05 on an assist from Rachael DiCicco.  The Knights continued a few minutes later when Megan Mazur scored on a penalty stroke at 17:36.

The Knights' Hood scored another goal at 61:09 in the second half on another assist by DiCicco.

Immaculata's Kathleen Garrity came back with an answer, scoring the first goal for the Mighty Macs on a feed from Katherine Fouhy at 67:43. 

Maureen Town ended the scoring for Immaculata when she netted a goal with 45 seconds left in the game.

Neumann held a slight 12-9 advantage in shots, and a 6-2 lead in penalty corners over Immaculata.

Brittany Worthington played all 70 minutes between the pipes for IU, making five saves. Neumann's Jordan Haviland also played a complete game recording one save.

Immaculata continues with Colonial States Athletic Conference action when they return home on Wednesday to play Cedar Crest at 4 p.m. in Draper Walsh Stadium in the Mighty Macs final home contest of the year.
