Immaculata Wins First Match Of The Season

Immaculata University women's volleyball team went 1-2 at the Bryn Mawr College Quad Match on Saturday, September 8, in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania.

The Mighty Macs fell to the Owls 3-0 (30-17, 30-19, 30-21) and Valley Forge Christian College 3-1 (30-17, 30-27, 28-30, 30-17), but defeated Penn State - Berks 3-0 (30-26, 30-18, 30-20) to earn their first win of the season.

For the invitational, freshman Jessica Lynch amassed 13 kills and 10 service aces, including six kills vs. the Nittany Lions.  Senior Meredith Smith totaled 45 assists, while sophomore Tabitha Reilly garnered 15 kills, four blocks and three service aces.  In the win over Penn State - Berks junior Diane Quintanilla collected five kills, two service aces and one block.

Immaculata (1-3) returns to action on Monday, September 10, when they host Neumann College in the home opener.  First serve is set for 7 pm.
