Matthew Murray

Paul Murphy, Immaculata University Director of Athletics and Recreation announced the hiring of Matthew Murray as the Head Coach of Men's and Women's Track and Field program and Intramural Coordinator.

"I am super excited to be a part of the Immaculata University Athletic Department, "said Murray. "Coaching Track and Field at the collegiate level has always been a goal of mine."

Murray earned his Bachelor of Science Degree from DeSales University in Sports and Exercise Physiology in May of 2022 where he was named team captain of the Track and Field team for three consecutive years. In his senior season, Murray earned National Qualifier status in the shotput and competed in the NCAA National Championships while also being named First-Team All-Conference and receiving USTFCCCA All-Region honors. Murray's expertise is in throwing events as he competed in shotput, hammer, discus, and the weight throw.

"We are excited to bring Matthew on board to head up our Track & Field program," stated Murphy. "His passion and commitment to a positive culture while developing our student-athletes will strengthen the team dynamic and his experience competing as a National Qualifier will serve him well as he strives to expand our programs. I am excited to have a Track & Field coach with a strength and conditioning background leading our teams."

Murray comes to Immaculata after spending the past two years as an Assistant Performance Director at Power Train Sports and Fitness in West Chester, Pa. Murray developed and led training programs for school aged youth to professional athletes. He has expertise in a variety of sports specific training for both men and women. Murray specializes in creating programs for cardiovascular needs, injury prevention and strength training. Murray spent time as a strength and conditioning coach at Moravian University.
