Matthew Murray is in his second season as the Mighty Macs' head men's and women's track and field coach in 2025-26.
The Mighty Macs were the host of the 2026 Atlantic East Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Under Murray's leadership, Immaculata garnered numerous accolades. On the men's side, Colin Corkery took Rookie of the Year and Field Athlete of the Year. Corkery and Dylan Crews got All-AEC First Team honors (with Corkery listed twice), while Kevin Telesford was Second Team. For the women's team, Abby Grillo was the conference's Rookie of the Year. Seven Mighty Macs grabbed First Team honors, and two made the Second Team. (Grillo made a First and Second Team; Aubrey Donahue was on the First Team twice).

"I am super excited to be a part of the Immaculata University Athletic Department, "said Murray. "Coaching track and field at the collegiate level has always been a goal of mine."
Murray earned his Bachelor of Science Degree from DeSales University in Sports and Exercise Physiology in May 2022, where he was named team captain of the track and field team for three consecutive years. In his senior season, Murray earned national qualifier status in the shot put and competed in the NCAA National Championships while also being named First-Team All-Conference and receiving USTFCCCA All-Region honors. Murray's expertise is in throwing events, as he competed in shot put, hammer throw, discus, and weight throw.

"His passion and commitment to a positive culture, while developing our student-athletes, will strengthen the team dynamic, and his experience competing as a National Qualifier will serve him well as he strives to expand our programs. I am excited to have a track and field coach with a strength and conditioning background leading our teams."
Murray comes to Immaculata after spending two years as an assistant performance director at Power Train Sports and Fitness in West Chester, Pa. Murray developed and led training programs for school-aged youth to professional athletes. He has expertise in a variety of sports-specific training for both men and women. Murray specializes in creating programs for cardiovascular needs, injury prevention, and strength training. Murray spent time as a strength and conditioning coach at Moravian University.
