Mary Kirchner is in her first season as the Mighty Macs' head men's volleyball coach in 2027.

Kirchner was named the head coach of Immaculata men's volleyball on June 16, 2026, after serving as the team's assistant coach and recruiting coordinator during the 2026 season. She has also served as the Mighty Macs' women's volleyball head coach since 2025.

Kirchner helped guide the men's volleyball team through its inaugural season in the United East Conference in 2026. The Mighty Macs went 5-3 in conference, and the team made their first-ever postseason appearance.

In her first season as head coach of the women's volleyball program in 2025, Kirchner led Immaculata to an 11-17 overall record (4-3 Atlantic East). After opening the season 3-11, the Mighty Macs finished the regular season on an 8-5 run to secure a conference playoff berth and advance to the conference semifinals.

A 1992 Immaculata graduate, Kirchner returned to her alma mater after spending three seasons as the girls' varsity volleyball head coach at Strath Haven High School. Under her leadership, Strath Haven finished second in the Central League each year and advanced to the District 1 Championship match in 2024.

Before her return to Immaculata, Kirchner served as head girls' volleyball coach for East Coast Power Volleyball in King of Prussia from 2021-23. She brings more than 20 years of scholastic and youth coaching experience to the Mighty Macs volleyball programs.

As an Immaculata student-athlete, Kirchner competed in both basketball and tennis, establishing a lifelong connection to the university and its athletic tradition.

"I am thrilled and humbled to take on this role and to lead both the women's and men's programs at Immaculata," Kirchner said. "I look forward to working with this group of young men again. We had one of the program's most successful seasons this past spring, and I plan to build on that progress and make Immaculata into a championship program by developing a championship culture. Working with both the women's and the men's teams will strengthen Immaculata's presence in the volleyball landscape. I am grateful to Paul Murphy and Immaculata administration for the opportunity to represent my Alma Mater."

Kirchner is a USAV Certified official, a PIAA Certified official, is USAV IMPACT trained, and has completed USAV Safe Sport training. She served as a USAV Official at the National Northeast Qualifier in 2022-23.
