Patrick Swift

Patrick Swift begins his fourth season as Immaculata's head baseball coach, and he also serves as Immaculata's Athletic Facilities Coordinator.

The Mighty Macs just missed a playoff appearance in 2012 as they ended the year with a 16-22 overall and 7-11mark in conference play.

Matt Hardy continued to garner accolades from the league and added regional recognition in 2012. Hardy again captured First Team All-CSAC honors, and he added American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Mid-Atlantic All-Region Second Team and D3Baseball.com All-Mid-Atlantic Region Third Team honors to his resume.

Swift also mentored three other All-CSAC selections during 2012, Matt Bolden, who also garned first team, as well as second team selection Brandon Seibert and honorable mention pick Matt Dolan.

During the 2011 campaign, Swift guided the team to the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) tournament as the No. 3 seed advancing to the championship round. The Mighty Macs ended the season with an overall mark of 19-15 and 11-7 in the CSAC.

Hardy was a First Team All-CSAC selection in 2011. In addition, Rick Gehman was selected to the second team all-conference squad while Dave News and Joe DiGiaimo each earned honorable mention accolades in 2011.

In his first season, Swift guided the first-year program to a 12-25 overall and 6-12 mark in the CSAC in 2010.

One of the milestones during Swift's first campaign with the Mighty Macs was guiding Hardy to the CSAC's Rookie of the Year award.

Swift was introduced as the inaugural head baseball coach at Immaculata on Oct. 17, 2008 by Director of Athletics, Patricia Canterino. Swift was chosen to help build and lead Immaculata’s baseball program, which began its first season of NCAA varsity competition in the spring of 2010.

Swift came to Immaculata following a brief stint at York College. Before his arrival at York, Swift was an assistant coach on Division II Millersville University’s staff during 2008, where he helped lead the Marauders to the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East regular-season championship. He served as both the pitching coach and recruiting coordinator and also had responsibilities as the camp coordinator and with organizing the budget.

Prior to his arrival at Millersville, Swift served for two seasons as the assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at his alma mater, Chowan University. He also coached in the Coastal Plain League, a summer collegiate baseball league, for two seasons with the Asheboro Copperheads. He served as an assistant coach during 2005, and was promoted to head coach the following season.

During his collegiate playing career at Chowan, Swift was a four-year catcher for the Hawks. His senior year, Chowan won the 2005 NCCAA South Region championship. Swift also played with the Edenton Steamers of the Coastal Plain League during the summer of 2004.

Swift received his bachelor’s of science degree in Sports Science from Chowan in May 2005. He is currently working on his master’s degree in Sports Coaching at the United States Sports Academy at Daphne, Ala.
