Alumnae Hall

Alumnae Hall, which opened in 1970, is the center of recreational and athletic needs for Immaculata’s students, faculty and staff. The main gym in Alumnae Hall houses Immaculata’s volleyball and men’s and women’s basketball teams. While a smaller recreational gym connected to the main gym, deep-water pool and weight room, equipped with the latest equipment, are also housed in Alumnae Hall.

The 400-seat main gymnasium most recently played hosted to the 2008 Pennsylvania Athletic Conference Championship Game, where Immaculata defeated Gwynedd-Mercy to advance to the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament for the first time. Earlier in its history, Alumnae Hall was home to Immaculata’s three-time AIAW national champion women’s basketball squads (1972-74).

The facility can also accommodate a wide range of individual and group recreational sports and fitness activities, including fitness and education classes, as well as offering a wide range of intramural programs.

Draper Walsh Stadium

Draper Walsh Stadium, Immaculata University’s all-purpose synthetic (sprint turf) playing field with a 1,000-seat stadium featuring a concession stand, press box and two team pavilions with home, visitor and official locker rooms, is home to the Mighty Macs’ field hockey, men’s and women’s soccer and men’s and women’s lacrosse programs.

Draper Walsh Stadium was dedicated on October 4, 2006 prior to the men’s soccer match against Arcadia University. It is named in honor of Mimi Draper Walsh ’63, Trustee and Benefactor, through the generosity of the Walsh Family. Mimi Draper Walsh, a resident of Morristown, N.J., earned a Bachelor’s of Art in elementary education and psychology from Immaculata. She continued her education at Seton Hall University, earning a Master’s of Arts in counseling psychology. During her career, she served as a public school teacher in Springfield, N.J., and in the College Admissions Department of Drew University in Madison, N.J.

As a loyal alumna, Draper Walsh has served for seven years as a member of the Board of Trustees for Immaculata University. She is also actively involved in the community, where she has served as a trustee for The Seeing Eye of Morristown, N.J., a trustee for Babyland Family Services of Newark, N.J., since 1996 and a founder and chairperson for JL Cares of Jupiter, Fla. She also served as a trustee for the Boys’ and Girls’ Club of Newark, N.J.

Mighty Macs Training Facility

Immaculata University unveiled its multi-purpose training facility for the Mighty Macs' athletic teams on Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2009 at a dedication ceremony held at 3:00 p.m. outside the facility.

The Mighty Macs Training Facility, nestled between the softball field, baseball stadium and Draper Walsh Stadium, will provide Immaculata athletics teams with a state-of-the-art indoor multi-purpose practice facility. The facility will house indoor batting cages for Immaculata's softball and baseball teams. The 14-foot high ceiling and retractable batting cage nets will also allow flexible use of the space for Immaculata's field hockey, golf, soccer, and lacrosse programs. The inside of the facility features a fully covered turf floor.

Baseball Stadium

Immaculata University officially dedicated its newest athletic facility on Monday afternoon, April 18, 2011 in a ceremony to bless the Baseball Stadium prior to the baseball game against Eastern.

Construction for the new baseball stadium began in February 2010 and was completed on November 29, 2010. Its 688-seat grandstand overlooks a beautiful Kentucky blue grass playing field. An automatic irrigation system, drainage system and rain cover mats ensure optimal field conditions. The stadium has major-league style backstop nettings and extra-large recessed dugouts, which allow for a clean line of sight from any seat. A stately press box with a roof-top platform for video production bears the Immaculata University logo. Two spacious bullpens with pitching mounds are just beyond the outfield fence.

In conjunction with the stadium, a paved fitness trail surrounds the stadium and links to a newly improved women's softball field, as well as the recently constructed Mighty Macs Training Facility.

Following the dedication ceremony, the Immaculata baseball team took on Eastern with the Mighty Macs defeating the Eagles, 6-1. This new chapter in Immaculata athletics began on March 9, 2011, with the first home baseball opener played against Arcadia.

Immaculata's Director of Capital Program Management, Kerry Jones, oversaw the construction; Matthew Luttrell, AIA, principal at AUM Architecture, served as the architect for the project; and the sports consultant was Joel Leider, vice president of Sports Plan Studio. Chester Valley Engineers played a significant role in the project through president and land development planner Robert Plucienik, PE, assisted by civil engineer Neal Camens, PE, and Harry Shreiner, director of construction management. The Open Door Athletic Training Facility located on the first floor of Alumnae Hall is the primary athletic training room at Immaculata University. It was designed and opened in August 2012 to accommodate the needs of over 200 Mighty Mac athletes. The facility also serves as a learning environment for Immaculata’s Athletic Training undergraduate program.

The athletic training facility contains separate areas for treatment, rehabilitation, hydrotherapy, and taping, as well as five offices and two classrooms. Several mobile modality units are moved around the eight treatment tables for convenient use. The facility is also equipped with machines available for strength testing and rehabilitation of various injuries. The training room has two stationary bikes (one recumbent and one upright), an upper body ergometer (UBE), Total Body Gym, treadmill and elliptical. Other rehabilitation tools include Theraband and tubing, dumbbell and cuff weights, Swiss balls, BOSUs, foam rolls, kettle bells and trampoline rebounder with medicine balls.

One of the highlighted areas in the Athletic Training Facility is the hydrotherapy room. This room is separated from the rest of the treatment area by a wall of windows to allow for adequate supervision of hydrotherapy treatments while reducing the noise level to the remainder of the facility. The hydrotherapy room contains three full-body whirlpools, two extremity whirlpools, a hydroculator with heat packs and racks, an ice machine and a freezer.
