GALLOWAY, N.J.- The Immaculata University baseball team totaled 19 hits and scored in six different innings en route to an 18–9 victory over Stockton on Tuesday afternoon in Galloway, N.J.
Ryan Nace paced the Immaculata offense with four runs scored and four RBI, finishing 2-for-3 with two walks.
Nick Turnage added a four-hit performance, going 4-for-5 with two RBI and a stolen base, while
Hunter Weitzel went 3-for-5 with three runs scored and two RBI.
With the win, Immaculata improves to 8-14 overall and 3-3 in Atlantic East Conference play, while Stockton falls to 5-18 overall and 1-5 in NJAC play.
HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST STOCKTON
- The Mighty Macs opened the scoring in the top of the first, as J.T. Luther drew a bases-loaded walk to bring home the game's first run. Later in the inning, Nick Turnage delivered a two-run single to cap a three-run frame and give Immaculata a 3–0 lead.
- Immaculata broke the game open in the second inning, plating five runs on five hits. Danny Nocito scored on a wild pitch before Hunter Weitzel singled home a run. Ryan Nace followed with a two-run single up the middle, and Robert Woodward added a sacrifice fly to extend the advantage to 8–0.
- Stockton answered with two runs in the bottom of the third, but Immaculata responded in the fourth. Luke Hardnock brought in a run with a sacrifice bunt, and Woodward followed with an RBI single to push the lead to 10–2.
- Immaculata put the game out of reach in the sixth, scoring five runs on five hits. Hunter Weitzel drove in a run with a single, J.T. Luther followed with an RBI double, and Nace delivered another two-run hit. Hardnock capped the inning with an RBI single, extending the lead to 17–3.
- Stockton mounted a late rally with two runs in the sixth, one in the seventh, and three in the eighth, highlighted by a pair of home runs, but Immaculata added an insurance run in the eighth on an RBI single from Hardnock.
