IMMACULATA, Pa.- Immaculata dropped a non-conference matchup to Arcadia, 19–3, on Tuesday afternoon at IU Baseball Stadium.
The Mighty Macs kept things competitive early, holding Arcadia scoreless through the first two innings behind starter
John Fitzpatrick. However, Arcadia broke through in the third inning and erupted for 10 runs in the fourth to take control of the contest.
With the loss, Immaculata falls to 4-11 overall, and is 1-2 in Atlantic East Conference play, while Arcadia improves to 11-6 overall, and is 5-1 in MAC Freedom action.
HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST ARCADIA
- Immaculata worked around an early Arcadia threat as John Fitzpatrick stranded two runners. In the bottom half, Hunter Weitzel drew a walk and advanced on a sacrifice bunt, but the Macs were unable to bring him home.
- Arcadia left another runner in scoring position, with Fitzpatrick continuing to limit damage. Immaculata put two runners on via walks, but a flyout ended the inning.
- Arcadia broke through with three runs, capitalizing on a passed ball, an RBI double, and an error. Immaculata answered with a single from Matt Passerini but could not bring him around to score.
- Arcadia erupted for 10 runs in a long inning, using timely hits, walks, and wild pitches to extend the lead.
- Immaculata responded with its strongest inning offensively—Nick Turnage singled, and after a pair of walks loaded the bases, Hunter Weitzel delivered a two-run single. Matt Passerini followed with an RBI single to cap a three-run frame.
- Arcadia was able to add runs in the fifth, sixth, and seventh innings before the game was called after the seventh inning.
