WINCHESTER, Va. – Immaculata dropped a 19-6 decision to Piedmont on Sunday morning at Kevin Anderson Field at Bridgeforth Stadium in their final game of the Mr. V Memorial Tournament at Shenandoah University.
The Mighty Macs (1-2) collected 12 hits on the day and showed resilience throughout, including a three-run second inning and another three-run frame in the fifth.
HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST PIEDMONT
- After Piedmont jumped out to an early lead, Immaculata answered in the bottom of the second when Brennan McVey, Logan Barndt, and Robert Woodward each had RBI singles for Immaculata to cut the lead to 8-3.
- In the fifth, Woodward doubled to left center to spark the offense. Danny Nocito followed with an RBI single before Joey Ditta's base hit, combined with a Piedmont error, brought home another run. Matt Passerini added an RBI groundout to account for the third run of the inning.
- On the mound, Aidan Jackson made the start, with Frankie McCartney, Ben Divens, Trevor Robbins, and Sal Marziani seeing relief action. Marziani provided a bright spot late, tossing a scoreless inning with two strikeouts.

The Immaculata baseball team is scheduled to be back home on Tuesday, March 3, for their home opener against Swarthmore at 3:00 p.m. at the IU Baseball Stadium.
