BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Immaculata University women's swimming team opened its 2026-27 season on Saturday afternoon with a split against Moravian University and Wilkes University in a tri-meet hosted by Moravian at Liberty High School Pool. The Mighty Macs picked up a 140-112 win over Moravian before falling to Wilkes, 137-114.
 
Junior Ashley Batejan led the way for Immaculata, earning two individual victories in the backstroke events. Junior Keira Wiley also picked up a win in the 50-yard butterfly, while the Mighty Macs' 200-yard freestyle relay team finished first to cap off a strong day in the pool.
 
Batejan got her afternoon started with a first-place finish in the 50-yard backstroke, touching the wall in 30.26 seconds. She followed that performance with another victory in the 100-yard backstroke, finishing in 1:06.57. Batejan also took second in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 26.89 seconds.
 
Wiley added to the Mighty Macs' event wins with a first-place finish in the 50-yard butterfly, posting a time of 29.35 seconds. She also finished second in the 100-yard butterfly in 1:05.39 and placed fourth in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 1:00.90.
 
In the distance events, sophomore Hannah Barber led Immaculata in the 500-yard freestyle, finishing second in 6:02.53. Barber also turned in a third-place finish in the 200-yard individual medley, touching the wall in 2:32.40.
 
Junior Delanie McPeak had a solid afternoon in the breaststroke events, placing third in both the 50-yard and 100-yard breaststroke. She finished the 50-yard event in 36.99 seconds and the 100-yard event in 1:20.78. McPeak added a fourth-place finish in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:35.93.
 
The Mighty Macs also came away with a relay victory in the 200-yard freestyle. The team of freshman Cara Smith, junior Rebecca Ambrose, freshman Kristin Barresi, and sophomore Emilee Rible combined for a first-place time of 1:57.01.
