HACKETTSTOWN, N.J.- The Immaculata baseball team fell to Centenary University in the third game of their three-game series on Friday afternoon. The Mighty Macs had taken one of two from the Cyclones during Thursday's doubleheader, as Immaculata is now 2-4 in Conference play after going 1-2 against both Neumann and Centenary to begin their Atlantic East game slate.
The Mighty Macs look ahead to singles with Rosemont and Swarthmore to find rhythm before facing Marywood on Friday and Saturday of next week.Â
How it Happened
- Immaculata put two runners on in the top of the first, but neither came to pass.
- Stephen Devanney retired Centenary in order in the first inning, striking out the Cyclones 1 and 3 hitters. Devanney kept Centenary scoreles through the second as well.
- The Cyclones used three hits in the third inning to plate four runs, as Immaculata surrendered a pair of 2-run doubles.Â
- Centenary added their fifth run in the bottom of the fifth inning.
- Ryan Struble had a one out double in the top of the sixth, but was left stranded in scoring position.
- The Cyclones posted four runs in the eighth inning to take a commanding 9-0 lead that held through the conclusion of the contest.
