ALLENTOWN, Pa.- The Immaculata women's lacrosse team got back in the win column tonight when they defeated Cedar Crest 15-7 on Tuesday evening. Ava Hoffman and Alexa Marczak led Immaculata with four goals and two assists each. Jacki Murray scored three goals, and Addison Yackel scored two goals for the Mighty Macs. Alexa Marczak and Addison Yackel each registered their first multi-goal games of their collegiate careers. 

With the win Immaculata improves to 2-10 overall as they prepare for their Atlantic East Conference opener. Cedar Crest falls to 4-3 overall, and they are 1-0 in United East Conference play. 

Scoring  

-Ava Hoffman and Alexa Marczak scored four goals each, Jacki Murray scored three goals, Addison Yackel scored two goals, and Kelsey Caldarelli and Carly Oberg each scored one goal.  

-Ava Hoffman, Jacki Murray, and Alexa Marczak each had two assists. 

Defensive 

-Kelsey Caldarelli had seven ground balls, Addison Yackel had three ground balls, Ava Hoffman, Carly Oberg, Cara Strickland, and Abigail Guarneri each had two ground balls. Alexa Marczak and Jacki Murray each had one ground ball. 

-Kelsey Caldarelli and Cara Strickland each had two caused turnovers. Ava Hoffman and Carly Oberg each had one caused turnover.  

-Addison Yackel had six draw controls, Kelsey Caldarelli had five draw controls, Jacki Murray had four draw controls, and Carly Oberg had one draw control. 

-Abigail Guarneri made four saves in goal.

How it Happened 

• Jacki Murray opened the scoring at 14:11 of the first quarter to give Immaculata a 1-0 lead. 

• Cedar Crest tied the score at 1-1 at 12:09. 

• Alexa Marczak scored unassisted at 11:34 to give Immaculata a 2-1 lead. 

• Ava Hoffman scored at 7:07, assisted by Jacki Murray to extend the lead to 3-1. 

• Kelsey Caldarelli scored at 5:00 assisted by Ava Hoffman, and Carly Oberg scored on a free position at 4:09 as Immaculata led 5-1 after one quarter. 

• Alexa Marczak, Ava Hoffman, and Jacki Murray all scored goals in the second quarter with Hoffman and Murray each adding assists as Immaculata led 8-1 at halftime. 

• Ava Hoffman and Alexa Marczak each scored early in the third quarter to extend the Immaculata lead to 10-1.  

• Cedar Crest responded scoring three straight goals to cut the Might Macs lead to 10-4. 

• Addison Yackel broke the Falcons run scoring on a free position shot at 2:42 to send Immaculata into the fourth quarter leading 11-4. 

• Cedar Crest scored two goals early in the fourth quarter to make the score 11-6. 

• Ava Hoffman scored her fourth goal of the game on a free position shot at 8:48 to extend the lead to 12-6. Jacki Murray followed her third goal of the game at 7:13, Alexa Marczak scored her fourth goal of the game at 6:44, and Addison Yackel scored her second goal of the game at 5:35 to put Immaculata up 15-6. 

• Immaculata would go on to close out the win 15-7.
