IMMACULATA,Pa.- The Immaculata softball team ended their season on a high note, taking both ends of their Atlantic East finale with Gwynedd Mercy.
GAME ONE: IMMACULATA:8 GWYNEDD MERCY:4
The 3rd inning would be the biggest of the game for the Mighty Macs, trailing 1-0 after two,
Bryele Anthony tripled and scored on a Griffins fielding error,
Rylee Martin followed that up with a three run homerun scoring
Kaitlyn Carter and
Jess Oldham.
Kristin Carter added an RBI single bringing home
Allison Hill to make it 5-1 Immaculata.
The Griffins would cut it to a one run game in the fourth, before
Allison Hill hit a bases clearing triple down the right field line to score
Peyton McGowan,
Naila Valdez and
Jess Oldham.
Emma Mercadante picked up her fifth victory of the season with a complete game outing for the Macs in the circle.
GAME TWO: IMMACULATA:6 GWYNEDD MERCY:3
Carlee Karcher started the scoring early with an RBI double to plate
Rylee Martin in the first inning. Gwynedd Mercy would take a 3-1 lead in the 4
th.
Allison Hill would make it a one run game with a productive RBI groundout in the 6
th. The top of the 7
th would be a big one for the Macs, as Martin drove in a pair with a single, Karcher added another RBI of her own while McGowan drove in one with an infield single to make it 6-3 Immaculata.
Courtney gable picked up her fifth win of the season with a complete game performance allowing three earned runs.
The Immaculata softball team finished the season with a record of 14-20 overall and a 4-8 Atlantic East Conference record. A season recap will follow.
