IMMACULATA, Pa.- Liza Laxton broke the Immaculata career assists record while helping the Immaculata women's lacrosse team to an 18-14 Atlantic East Conference win over Neumann at Draper Walsh Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.
With 5:37 remaining in the second quarter, Laxton etched her name in the Immaculata women's lacrosse record book as she fed
Cara Strickland for her third assist of the game, and the 106
th assist of her Mighty Mac career breaking the previous record of 105 held by Shannon Neill (2013-15). The goal put Immaculata ahead 7-5.
Immaculata was led by
Tessa Liberatoscioli with nine goals, seven ground balls, three caused turnovers, and eight draw controls.
Jacki Murray had five goals, one assist, one ground ball, and 15 draw controls.
Liza Laxton had two goals, three assists, one ground ball, two draw controls, and one caused turnover.
Ava Hoffman had one goal, one assist, three ground balls, and two caused turnovers.
Cara Strickland had one goal, one assist, and three ground balls. Goalkeeper
Abigail Guarneri had eight saves, and seven ground balls for the Mighty Macs.
In the first quarter, Neumann jumped out to an early 2-0 lead, before
Tessa Liberatoscioli got the Mighty Macs on the board with a goal with 11:18 remaining in the quarter. Neumann would add a third goal, before
Liza Laxton and Jacki Muray would score to even the score as the quarter ended with the teams tied 3-3.

Liza Laxton.
Jacki Murray scored on an assist from
Liza Laxton to put Immaculata ahead 6-4. Following a Neumann goal,
Liza Laxton would feed
Cara Strickland to put Immaculata up 7-5. Immaculata extended their lead to 8-5, on Laxton's second goal of the game. Neumann would score a pair of goals late to trim the Immaculata lead to 8-7 at the half.
Neumann would score the first four goals of the third quarter to take an 11-8 lead.
Tessa Liberatoscioli scored a pair of goals separated by 1:02 to pull Immaculata within a goal at 11-10. Neumann would get a goal back, before
Ava Hoffman and
Tessa Liberatoscioli would score in the final 0:32 of the quarter to tie the game at 12-12 after three quarters.
In the fourth quarter,
Jacki Murray scored three consecutive goals to put Immaculata ahead 15-12. Tessa Liberatorcioli would add a goal to put the Mighty Macs up 16-12. After Neumann scored a goal to cut the lead to three,
Tessa Liberatoscioli scored a pair of goals including the second goal on a free position as Immaculata would go on to close out the 18-14 win.
