IMMACULATA,Pa.- The Immaculata softball team took down Rosemont by a score of 17-9 in the first game of their double header this afternoon.

It was a high scoring game one at the Immaculata Softball Field as both teams were scoring runs in bunches. Rosemont jumped out to a 7-2 lead in the top of the second, the Mighty Macs put up a four spot in the bottom half with
Jess Oldham and
Peyton McGowan each doubling in two. Rosemont would add two to their lead in the top of the 3
rd making it 9-6.

Immaculata would put up a five spot in the bottom of the third with
Steph Kelly,
Bryele Anthony, Oldham and McGowan all driving in runs to give Immaculata an 11-9 lead.

The Mighty Macs would break it open in the fourth with Oldham tripling in three and
Peyton McGowan sending a two-run shot way over the left center field fence to make it 16-9. The Mighty Macs would end the game via run rule in the bottom of the fifth inning.

Emma Mercadante picked up her third win of the season in relief for Immaculata.

The Immaculata softball team is back in action Saturday, March 23
rd for an Atlantic East Conference doubleheader with Marywood.
