Mighty Macs Rewrite two Records, Fall to Juniata

IMMACULATA, Pa.- The Immaculata women's swimming team hosted Juniata in their first home meet of the season, ultimately falling 86-114 to the Eagles. On the afternoon, the Mighty Macs rewrote a pair of program bests, overturning both a team relay and an individual record.

How it Happened
  • In the very first event, the relay team of Ashley Batejan (Backstroke), Delanie McPeak (Breaststroke), Keira Wiley (Butterfly), and Joella Moyer (Freestyle) swam a 2:03.19 200-yard Medley Relay, good for the program record. The team of Jessica Kiederling, Jess Callahan, Madeline Casale, and Bella Hernandez finished third with a time of 2:47.35.
  • Liz Ferguson narrowly took second in the 1000-yard Freestyle, touching the wall in 12:11.02. Jessica Kiederling collected third, finishing in 15:22.18.
  • Keira Wiley won the 200-yard Freestyle behind a time of 2:10.89. Bella Hernandez earned fourth place in the event with a 2:44.29.
  • Three Mighty Macs took part in the 50-yard Freestyle, as Ashley Batejan (28.26) slotted second, Joella Moyer (29.50) placed third, and Ava McEntire (44.46) took sixth.
  • Delanie McPeak's quick start in the 200-yard Individual Medley helped her to a first place finish, touching the wall in 2:27.69.
  • Keira Wiley donned another program record in the 100-yard Butterfly, winning the event with a 1:04.47. Madeline Casale earned fourth in the race with a 1:17.13.
  • Joella Moyer took third in the 100-yd Freestyle behind a 1:04.06, as Bella Hernandez took fourth with a 1:16.87 and Valeska Bastidas claimed sixth clocking 1:45.18.
  • Ashley Batejan won the 100-yard Backstroke, touching the wall in 1:06.93, as Madeline Casale used a 1:18.74 to take fourth.
  • Liz Ferguson and Jess Kierderling collected points in the 500-yard Freestyle, as Ferguson placed second with a 6:12.11 and Kiederling took fourth with a 7:30.82.
  • Delanie McPeak's 1:18.59 won the 100-yard Breastroke by just four hundreths of a second, as Liz Ferguson's 1:22.81 took fourth and Jess Callahan's 1:57.05 slotted sixth.
  • The women's team closed out the meet with the 200-yard Freestyle relay. The Mighty Macs' team of Madeline Casale, Valeska Bastidas, Ava McEntire, and Jess Callahan took third place, touching the wall in 2:34.55.

  • The Immaculata women's swimming team will take the blocks against Moravian University on Saturday, November 2nd.
