Crowell Pitches Macs to Championship Game As Bats Stay Hot

IMMACULATA,Pa.-  The Immaculata baseball team secured their spot in the Atlantic East Conference Tournament championship with their 9-2 victory over Cabrini on Friday afternoon.

Ryan Crowell picked up his eighth victory of the season, with a strong performance to stifle the high-powered Cavalier offense. Stephen DiBatista and Trevor Wagner were excellent in relief, combining for three innings of no-hit baseball.

Immaculata used a strong bottom half of the first inning, with Joey Sacco getting the party started with a two-run single, driving in Frank Margiotta and Joey Wright. Ryan Struble would then lace a double into the right center gap to plate Sacco and Steven Theisen to give the Macs a 4-0 lead. The rally would not end there, as Maddox Stern would deliver a two run single up the middle to bring home Struble and Justin Klemick.

Cabrini would add one run back in the 2nd on a Brady Campbell single to left field to drive home Ben Houghton and cut the Mighty Macs lead to five.

Robert Woodward would get the Macs offense back on track with a single down the left field line in the 3rd inning to bring home Jay Lawrence. Margiotta would single in the inning to drive in Klemick to extend the lead to 8-1.

Cabrini would add another run on an infield single from Colton Narciso to plate Ryan Dipper in the 6th to cut into the lead.

Joey Wright would further extend their lead to 9-2 in the seventh inning with a single to score Woodward.

The Immaculata baseball team will be back in action on Saturday, May 13th for a 11:00 AM start time at the Immaculata Baseball Stadium in the Atlantic East Championship against the winner of this afternoon's game five contest between Neumann University and Cabrini University.
