IMMACULATA,Pa.- The Immaculata baseball team defeated Lebanon Valley College by a score of 11-2.
Senior right-handed pitcher
Ryan Crowell got the start on the mound, going seven innings allowing eight hits and holding the opposition to 1 run, while racking up 7 strikeouts. With this victory, Ryan set a new program record for wins in a career, picking up his 16
th as a Mighty Mac.
Graduate student
Frank Margiotta set the tone for the Mighty Macs offense out of the gate, beginning the game with a 13 pitch at bat. The Macs would strike first, scoring two runs in the top of the first, from a single off the bat of
Joey Sacco and a sacrifice fly from
Ryan Struble to jump out to an early 2-0 lead.
In the 3
rd inning,
Josh Crowding would drive in
Joey Wright with a double, extending the lead to 3-0. The Macs would tack on another in the 4
th due to an RBI single from Margiotta. Wright would add another with a 6
th inning single. Klemick extended the lead to 7-1 with a 2 RBI single in the 7
th.
In the bottom of the 8
th the Macs would tack on four more runs, with Sacco,Struble and Klemick driving them in.
On the afternoon, the Mighty Macs were led by a 4-4 performance at the plate from
Joey Sacco, driving in four runs.
Justin Klemick went 2-4 with three runs driven in, and
Ryan Struble who would go 1-3 with a sacrifice fly to drive in two.
The Immaculata baseball team will be back in action Thursday, March 23rd
nd when they travel to Rutgers Camden for a 6:00 PM start.
