Prior to the start of game one, the Mighty Macs honored their six graduating seniors, Frank Margiotta, Giancarlo Palmieri, Andrew Rodriguez, Hunter Hall, Trevor Wagner, and Coy Walters, on their collegiate careers.

Joey Wright then reached base on an error by the third basemen, scoring Margiotta to put the Macs on the board. A walk from Josh Crowding then loaded the bases with no outs. Louis Sharp then batted in Sacco on a single into left field. With the bases still loaded, Steven Theisen then stepped up, hitting a double down the left field line to bat in Crowding and Wright. The Macs then scored two additional runs on the inning on a sacrifice fly from Ryan Struble and an RBI bunt single from Margiotta to give the Macs the 6-0 lead after the first inning.

Marywood got on the board in the top of the second, scoring one run on the inning. After Sharp and Theisen reached base with two outs in the bottom of the second, Struble reached base on an error by the pitcher, scoring both runners on the play for Immaculata to extend the lead.
