CHESTER, Pa. – The Immaculata baseball team dropped their away game against Widener 23-9 on Monday.
The Macs were first to score on Monday, scoring one run in the top of the first.

Joey Sacco, and
Joey Wright led off the game with three straight walks before a double play ball from
Josh Crowding batted in Margiotta.
The Macs then scored three runs in the top of the second inning to bolster their lead.
Ryan Struble led off the inning with a double into left field, advancing to third on a single from
Jason Smiley. Struble then scored on a groundout from
Maddox Stern to put the Macs on the board.
Steven Theisen then stepped up and hit a double into center field, scoring Smiley. Theisen later scored on a sacrifice fly from
Joey Sacco as the Mighty Macs took a 4-1 lead.
The lead, however, would be short-lived as Widener matched Immaculata with three runs scored in the bottom half of the second. Immaculata then scored a run in the top of the third. Struble hit a two-out single into right field, eventually stealing home to give Immaculata a 5-3 lead. Widener then struck back with a vengeance, scoring nine runs in the bottom of the third to claim a 12-5 advantage.
Later, Struble led off the top of the sixth with a single into center field, moving to third on a single and ground out. Struble then took advantage of an error on the catcher, scoring for the Macs as the Macs were down 12-6. The Pride then scored eight runs in the bottom of the sixth, claiming a 20-6 lead.
Sacco then led off the top of the seventh with a single, putting a runner on for the Macs. Wright then stepped up to the plate, slapping a two-run home run. Later, after Struble reached base on a third-strike drop, he scored on a single from Lawrence, scoring the Macs' ninth run on the day.
The Macs' offense, however, could not keep up on the game as Widener claimed the day 23-9.
Struble led the Macs offensively on the day with four runs scored, going 3-for-4 overall. Wright, meanwhile, went 1-for-3 with two-run home run.
The Mighty Macs return to action on Wednesday as they travel to Lebanon Valley.
