GLASSBORO, N.J. – Brady Gibbons set a program record in the discus as the Immaculata men's track and field team opened up the outdoor season on Saturday by competing in the Oscar Moore Invitational.
Chris Mendoza earned second place overall in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.57.
Dylan Crews and
Nicholas Speakman-Viggiano, meanwhile, placed 12
th and 17
th with respective times of 12.10 and 12.17. The same trio then competed in the 200-meter with Mendoza placing ninth with a 23.23 time. Crews and Speakman-Viggiano then earned 40
th and 43
rd with respective 25.15 and 25.50 finishes.
Moving to the 800-meter, Mendoza and Speakman-Viggiano competed for the Macs, earning 27
th and 45
th with respective times of 2:11.13 and 2:24.70.
Marchello Barile and
Kieran Brackin closed out the track events on the day for the Macs, placing 5
th and 58
th in the 1500-meter with times of 5:21.26 and 5:23.54.
Moving into field events,
Joshua Derocher earned 18
th overall in the javelin throw with a 26.49-meter mark.
Brady Gibbons, meanwhile, set a program record in the discus throw with his 36.25-meter mark.
The Mighty Macs will return to action next Saturday as they compete in the Millversville Metrics.
