Women's Swimming Splits Tri-Meet at Cedar Crest

ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Immaculata women's swimming team closed out their regular season schedule on Saturday, splitting their tri-meet against Juniata and Cedar Crest. Immaculata defeated Cedar Crest 135-111 while they lost to Juniata 155-87.
 
The Macs began their day by submitting two team into the 200-yard medley relay. The first team of Colleen Blakelock, Mary Grace MacDonald, Joella Moyer, and Cameron Gleason finished second with a time of 2:09.48 while the team of Courtnee Gallo, Kathryn DeHaven, Breanna Kratz, and Jessica Kiederling finished in fourth with a time of 2:22.77.
 
Emily Stroble and Emily Meyer then competed in the 1,000-yard freestyle, placing fourth and fifth with respective times of 12:58.51 and 13:16.21. Next, Gleason and Kierderling placed third and fourth in the 200-yard freestyle. Gleason recorded a new personal best with a time of 2:31.34 while Kiederling finished with a time of 2:37.89.
 
Blakelock and Gallo next competed in the 100-yard backstroke. Blakelock finished in first place with a time of 1:06.89 while Gallo finished fifth with a time of 1:21.59, a new personal best. MacDonald and DeHaven then placed fifth and sixth in the 100-yard breaststroke with times of 1:27.25 and 1:28.83, respectively.
 
Moyer then placed second in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:46.07 while Kratz earned third with a time of 3:05.45. Gleason and Meyer then finished in fifth and sixth in the 50-yard freestyle with respective times of 30.13 and 30.17.
 
Next, in the 100-yard freestyle, Maya Schilp earned fourth place with a time of 1:12.93 while Cassandra Thiel placed sixth with a time of 1:25.67. Blakelock and Gallo then earned second and fifth in the 200-yard backstroke with times of 2:24.33 and 3:04.74, respectively.
 
MacDonald and DeHaven were next to compete, earning third and fourth in the 200-yard breaststroke with times of 3:09.22 and 3:11.87, setting new personal bests for both swimmers. Then, Kiederling and Schilp earned fifth and sixth place in the 500-yard freestyle with times of 7:10.64 and 8:26.70.
 
Stroble and Kratz then placed second and third respectively in the 100-yard butterfly with times of 1:17.30 and 1:24.71. Blakelock and Meyer then wrapped up the Macs' individual events on the day in the 200-yard individual medley. Blakelock finished in third with a time of 2:34.18 while Meyer finished in sixth with a new personal best time of 2:49.76.
 
The Mighty Macs then concluded the day in the 200-yard freestyle medley, submitting two teams. First, MacDonald, Moyer, Kratz, and Stroble finished in second with a time of 1:58.66 while the team of DeHaven, Schilp, Gallo, and Kiederling finished in third with a time of 2:05.67.
 
Immaculata will next compete in the Atlantic East Conference Meet on Friday, February 11th through Sunday, February 13th.
