ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Immaculata men's swimming team concluded their regular season on Saturday as they defeated Juniata in their neutral site dual meet on Saturday. The Macs won by a score of 129-39 overall.
The Macs' Saturday began in the 200-yard medley relay where
Jeremy Brown,
Marchello Barile,
Daniel Thiel, and
Kevin Lyons finished in first place with a time of 2:05.75. Brown then competed in the 1,000-yard freestyle, finishing in second place with a time of 12:35.11.
Lyons then finished in first in the 200-yard freestyle, finishing with a time of 2:08.63 for the Macs.
John Batley and Thiel then earned second and third in the 100-yard backstroke with times of 59.32 and 1:17.01, respectively. Next, Barile earned second place for Immaculata in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:25.45.
Gabriel Bocaj then earned a first place finish in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:07.39. Lyons and Barile then earned first and second respectively in the 50-yard freestyle with times of 25.10 and 33.88. Bocaj and Lyons then raced in the 100-yard freestyle, earning first and third with respective times of 50.95 and 56.91.
Batley and Barile then finished in first place in the 200-yard backstroke and 200-yard breaststroke, respectively. Batley finished with a time of 2:12.15 while Barile finished the breaststroke with a time of 3:13.93.
Brown then earned second place in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 6:05.01. Bocaj and Thiel were next to compete, finishing in first and third in the 100-yard butterfly with times of 57.53 and 1:12.36. Thiel's time was good for new personal best.
Batley concluded the individual events on the day for the Macs, finishing in first place in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:17.43. The Macs' 200-yard freestyle relay team of Brown, Thiel, Bocaj, and Batley then finished in first place with a time of 1:45.09.
The Mighty Macs will next compete in the Atlantic East Conference Meet on Friday, February 11
th through Sunday, February 13
th.
