BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Immaculata women's swimming team took the victory in their dual meet against Moravian on Friday evening by a score of 119-54.
The Macs' 200-yard medley relay team of
Joella Moyer,
Mary Grace MacDonald,
Emily Stroble, and
Emily Meyer took first place with a time of 2:15.85.
Jessica Kiederling and
Kathryn DeHaven, meanwhile, claimed first and second in the 1,000-yard freestyle with times of 14:45.63 and 14:57.47.
Colleen Blakelock then finished first overall in the 200-yard freestyle with a season-best time of 2:13.53. Meyer and
Courtnee Gallo then finished in third and fourth with respective times of 2:22.59 and 2:42.61.
A quartet of swimmers then competed in the 50-yard freestyle for Immaculata.
Cameron Gleason and
Maya Schilp placed third and fourth with times of 29.07 and 30.63. Stroble and
Cassandra Thiel then placed in sixth and seventh respectively with times of 30.99 and 40.89.
Breanna Kratz and MacDonald then swam the 200-yard individual medley, finishing with times of 2:43.35 and 2:50.07.
Next, Blakelock, Schilp, and Thiel earned second through fourth place for the Macs in the 100-yard freestyle with times of 1:01.27, 1:13.67, and 1:29.04, respectively. The trio of Gleason, Gallo, and Kiederling then placed second, fourth, and fifth in the 100-yard backstroke with times of 1:12.49, 1:21.93, and 1:25.05, respectively. Gleason and Gallo's times were good for new personal bests.
Stroble and MacDonald then took first and second place in the 500-yard freestyle. Stroble's 6:14.98 finish was good for a new personal best while MacDonald swam a 7:03.63. Moyer, DeHaven, and Kratz then took first through third place for the Macs in the 100-yard breaststroke with times of 1:22.65, 1:28.64, and 1:29.68, respectively. Moyer's time set a new personal best on the event.
Closing out the day, the Macs' two teams in the 200-yard freestyle relay earned second and third place. The second place team of Blakelock, Gleason, DeHaven, and Kratz swam a 1:59.63 while the third-place team of Kiederling, Schilp, Thiel, and Gallo swam a 2:14.16.
The Mighty Macs are back in action tomorrow as they are set for their regular season finale: a tri-match against Cedar Crest and Juniata.
