BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Immaculata men's swimming team won their dual meet against Moravian on Friday night by a score of 119-54.
Gabriel Bocaj re-broke his program records in the 100 and 200-yard freestyle to aid the Macs on the night.
The Macs began their night in the 200-yard medley relay as the team of
Daniel Thiel,
Marchello Barile,
Jeremy Brown, and
Kevin Lyons took first place with a time of 2:11.72. Then,
William Lorenzo finished in second place for the Macs in the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 16:05.71.
Then, Bocaj re-set his record in the 200-yard freestyle with a 1:50.14 finish, taking first-place on the event in the process. Next, Lyons and Barile took first and third place respectively in the 50-yard freestyle with times of 24.27 and 32.37.
Brown then claimed first place for Immaculata in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:32.31, shaving .31 seconds off his personal record on the event.
John Batley was next to compete, finishing in second place in the 100-yard butterfly, breaking the one-minute mark for the first time with a 59.40 finish.
Next, Bocaj broke his program record in the 100-yard freestyle with a 49.87 finish good for first place on the event. Lyons, meanwhile, finished in third on the event with a time of 55.36. Batley and Brown then claimed first and second place in the 100-yard backstroke with times of 1:00.41 and 1:10.03, respectively.
Thiel was next to race for the Macs, claiming third place in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 6:22.39. Barile and Lorenzo then wrapped up the individual events on the day for the Macs, earning first and second place in the 100-yard breaststroke with times of 1:24.38 and 1:28.28.
The Macs' 200-yard freestyle relay team of Batley, Bocaj, Lorenzo, and Thiel then finished the day for the Macs with a first-place, 1:43.23 finish.
The Mighty Macs are back in action tomorrow for their regular season finale against Juniata, hosted by Cedar Crest.
