MECHANICSBURG, Pa. – The Immaculata women's swimming team dropped their dual meet against Messiah on Friday evening with a final score of 176-29.
The Macs began the day with the team of
Colleen Blakelock, Mary Grace MaacDonald,
Emily Meyer, and
Breanna Kratz competing in the 200-yard medley relay. The team finished in fourth place overall with a time of 2:12.92 overall.
Emily Stroble and
Jessica Kiederling were the next to compete for Immaculata in the 1,000-yard freestyle. Stroble finished fourth overall with a time of 13:22.44 while Kiederling earned sixth with a time of 15:04.53.
Next, Meyer was joined by
Kathryn DeHaven and
Courtnee Gallo in the 200-yard freestyle. Meyer earned fifth place with a time of 2:23.57 while DeHaven and Gallo earned sixth and seventh with times of 2:34.56 and 2:44.24.
Four swimmers then represented the Macs in the 50-yard freestyle.
Cameron Gleason,
Emily Stroble,
Maya Schilp, and
Cassandra Thiel. Gleason earned a fourth place finish with a time of 29.24 while Stroble, Schilp, and Thiel earned sixth through seventh, respectively with times of 30.89, 32.09, and 41.83.
MacDonald then competed alongside
Joella Moyer in the 200-yard individual medley. Moyer finished in fourth with a time of 2:33.44 while MacDonald earned fifth with a 2:49.61 finish.
Next, Stroble earned fourth place for the Macs in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:17.19.
Moving to the 100-yard freestyle, Gleason, DeHaven, Schilp, and Thiel competed for Immaculata. Gleason and DeHaven earned fourth and fifth with respective times of 1:07.23 and 1:08.07. Schilp and Thiel, meanwhile, placed seventh and eighth with times of 1:14.46 and 1:30.12.
Following the 100-free, Blakelock and Gallo were next to compete in the 100-yard backstroke. Blakelock earned second place with a time of 1:07.53 while Gallo placed fifth with a 1:25.78 finish.
Kiederling and Moyer were next to compete for Immaculata, competing in the 500-yard freestyle. Moyer earned third place with a time of 6:30.31 while Kiederling earned fifth place with a 7:16.35 finish.
Closing out the individual events, MacDonald, DeHaven, and Meyer competed in the 100-yard breaststroke. The trio earned fourth through sixth place, respectively, with respective 1:25.21, 1:29.61, and 1:35.24 finishes. MacDonald and Meyer both earned new personal bests on the race.
Moving into the final event, the Macs submitted two teams into the 200-yard freestyle relay. First, the team of Moyer, Blakelock, Kratz, and Gleason finished in third with an overall time of 1:57.57. Then, Gallo, Kiederling, Thiel, and Schilp's relay finished in sixth with a time of 2:16.45.
The Mighty Macs will next return to action on Friday, January 21
st as they travel to Moravian for a dual meet.
