MECHANICSBURG, Pa. – Freshman
Gabriel Bocaj broke two records on the day as the Mighty Macs lost their dual meet against Messiah on Friday night by a score of 128-39.
Bocaj kicked off the Macs' day by performing in the 1,000-yard freestyle. He broke the program record on the event, finishing with a time of 10:57.30, winning the event. Bocaj later broke the program record in the 100-yard butterfly, earning a 55.57 time for a first-place finish.
Jeremy Brown was the next to compete for the Macs in the 200-yard freestyle, finishing in third place overall with a time of 2:11.56.
Next, a trio of Macs competed in the 50-yard freestyle.
Kevin Lyons finished in second with a time of 24.32.
Daniel Thiel and
Marchello Barile, meanwhile, placed fourth and fifth with respective finishes of 26.79 and 31.67.
The same trio later competed in the 100-yard freestyle. Lyons placed third with a 56.53 finish while Thiel and Barile earned fourth and fifth with respective finishes of 1:02.12 and 1:14.01.
Then, Brown competed in the 500-yard freestyle, placing third with a time of 6:05.09.
Closing out competition, the team of Bocaj, Brown, Thiel, and Lyons competed in the 200-yard freestyle relay. The team earned third place overall with a time of 1:42.47 overall.
The Mighty Macs will return to action next Friday as they travel to Moravian for a dual meet.
