GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa.- The Immaculata women's lacrosse team took to the road for its final regular season contest of the season against the Gwynedd Mercy University Griffins in a game with potential playoff implications.

Gwynedd Mercy opened the game with a pair of goals in the first three minutes to take an early 2-0 lead. Immaculata responded quickly with a pair of goals as Maura Murray and Mary McKinney each found the back of the net to even the score at 2-2. Gwynedd Mercy would score two more goals over the course of the next 10 bminutes to take a 4-2 lead with 11:07 to play in the first half. Immaculata added one more goal before the half as Ashley Hankin found the back of the net with 2:51 to play to trim the deficit to just one (4-3) heading to the halftime break.

Immaculata opened the second half scoring as Erynn Kriebel scored an up-goal off an assist from McKinney to even the score at 4-4 with 25:49 to play. From this point, Gwynedd Mercy went on a 3-0 run over the next nine minutes to claim a 7-4 lead. Immaculata answered with a goal from Liza Laxton with 13:44 to play to halt the run but Gwynedd Mercy countered with another 6-0 run to earn the 13-5 victory over Immaculata.

In goal, Katie Mulvey made five saves to slow the Griffin offense while Molly Gallagher led the defense with a team-high three caused turnovers and two ground balls in the setback.

As a team, Gwynedd Mercy outshot Immaculata by a narrow 28-23 margin while also ending the game with a 14-12 edge in ground balls. Immaculata was just 18-of-24 on its clear attempts while also winning just five of the 20 draw controls.

Immaculata will now wait to learn who it will face in the opening round of the Atlantic East Tournament when it begins later in the month of April.
