RADNOR, Pa. – Program records were broken as the Immaculata Mighty Macs swimming team travelled to Cabrini on Monday for a dual-meet. Immaculata lost the dual meet by a final score of 100-84.
On Saturday, the 200-yard medley relay team set a new program record. Two days later, that record has been broken. The team, consisting of
Macy Green,
Breanna Kratz,
Colleen Blakelock, and
Kaitlyn Klitchko, set the record with an overall time of 2:12.04.
Emily Meyer,
Kathryn DeHaven,
Maya Schilp, and
Cassandra Thiel also competed in the 200-yard medley, finishing with a time of 2:38.73.
In the 200-yard freestyle relay, the Immaculata team of Green, Klitchko, Kratz, and Blakelock came in first place with a time of 1:55.29. Meyer, Zimmerman, Schilp, and DeHaven came in second with a 2:07.31 time.
Individually, Blakelock set another program record, finishing first in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:10.80, over three seconds faster than the previous record set. Meyer also competed in the 200-yard freestyle, finishing in third with a time of 2:21.20. Blakelock and Meyer also competed in the 500-yard freestyle, finishing in first and fourth respectively with respective times of 6:07.68 and 6:35.41.
In the 50-yard freestyle, Green, Klitchko, and DeHaven earned third, fourth, and fifth, respectively. The trio finished with respective times of 28.27, 28.91, and 29.88.
Aileen Zimmerman next represented the Mighty Macs in the 1000-yard freestyle. She placed second overall with a time of 13:29.40.
Klitchko, Kratz, and Thiel each competed in the 100-yard freestyle for the Mighty Macs. They finished in second, third, and fifth respectively with respective times of 1:06.36, 1:08.15, and 1:33.43. Kratz also competed in the 200-yard individual medley, where she finished in third place with a time of 2:45.56.
Green finished in first place for the Mighty Macs in the 100-yard backstroke with an overall time of 1:08.60. She was joined in the 100-backstroke by Zimmerman and Schilp, who finished in third and sixth, respectively with times of 1:20.21 and 1:30.49.
DeHaven and Schilp wrapped up the day for the Mighty Macs by finishing in first and second place, respectively in the 100-yard breaststroke. DeHaven finished with a time of 1:32.77 while Schilp earned a 1:44.60 time.
The Mighty Macs will next compete in the Atlantic East Championships on April 23
rd and 24
th.
