IMMACULATA, Pa.- The Immaculata ESports team was back in action on Monday evening vs Cabrini in Atlantic East Rocket League play. Immaculata cruised to the 3-0 victory over Cabrini on Monday afternoon to improve to a perfect 4-0 in league play.
This was the second matchup of the two-match season series between the Macs and Cavaliers and Immaculata registered another 3-0 sweep of Cabrini to go a perfect 6-0 against the Cavaliers over the course of the two matches in the regular season.
Stephen Bradley,
Jacob Fitzgerald, and
Zachary Malcolm got the start for Immaculata once again on Monday evening.
Just over one minute into the first game of the night, Bradley on an assist from Fitzgerald found the back of the net for his first tally of the night to give Immaculata an early 1-0 lead. Cabrini responded with a goal of its own just seconds later to even the game at 1-1. In the closing seconds of the first game, Malcolm scored his first goal of the game off an assist from Fitzgerald to give the Mac a slim 2-1 lead with just 15 seconds to play. Immaculata turned in a strong defensive effort over the final 15 seconds to hold on for the 2-1 game one victory.
In the second game, Fitzgerald got on the board quickly with his first goal of the game and the evening just 46 seconds in to give Immaculata an early 1-0 lead. Fitzgerald scored his second goal of the game just over a minute later to extend the lead to 2-0. Cabrini cut the Macs lead in half with 2:24 to play in regulation, making the score 2-1 at the halfway point of the match. Bradley added another goal of his own 1:56 to play in the second game, which restored the Macs two-goal advantage making the score 3-1 entering the late stages of game two. With 1:01 to play in regulation, Malcolm tallied another goal to extend the lead to 4-1, which the Macs would go on to win by to claim a 2-0 lead in the match. In addition to his two goals, Fitzgerald also added another two assists to help Immaculata claim the game two victory.
In the third game, Fitzgerald opened the scoring once again with another tally with 3:07 to play to claim a 1-0 lead. Malcolm extended the lead moments later with a goal of his own to give Immaculata a commanding 2-0 lead. Fitzgerald added another goal in the closing seconds of regulation, which gave Immaculata a 3-0 lead late in the clinching game three victory.
Immaculata will be back in action next Monday evening vs Marymount with that match set to begin at 8 p.m.
