Women's Swimming Wins Dual Meet with Gallaudet

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Immaculata women's swimming team won their dual meet against Galluadet on Saturday by a score of 189-56.
 
Immaculata submitted two teams for the 200-yard medley relay. The "A" consisting of Emily Stroble, Joella Moyer, Cameron Gleason, and Kathryn DeHaven placed first, earning a time of 2:16.50. The "B" team of Emily Meyer, Courtnee Gallo, Mary Grace MacDonald, and Cassandra Thiel, meanwhile, placed second with a time of 2:40.08.
 
Moyer, DeHaven, Stroble, Colleen Blakelock, meanwhile, placed first in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:57.40. The "B" team of Thiel, Gallo, Schilp, and Jessica Kiederling, meanwhile, placed second with a time of 2:17.29.
 
Kierderling earned a first-place finish for the Mighty Macs in the 1,000-yard freestyle, finishing with a time of 15:13.07. She also competed in the 100-yard freestyle alongside MacDonald and DeHaven. MacDonald placed first with a time of 1:05.77 while DeHaven and Kiederling finished in second and third with respective times of 1:07.02 and 1:11.07.
 
MacDonald also earned second in the 50-yard backstroke, with a time of 35.39. Gleason earned first on the event with a time of 34.55 while Schilp earned third with a time of 38.82. She also joined Moyer in the 100-yard breaststroke. Moyer finished first in the event with a time of 1:23.18 while MacDonald placed second with a time of 1:29.29.
 
Moyer also earned first in the 100-yard butterfly. She and Meyer took first and second on the event with times of 1:11.27 and 1:21.04.
 
Gleason then earned first-place in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:54.91. Meyer earned second on the event with a time of 2:56.23.
 
Gleason then joined Blakelock and Schilp in the 50-yard freestyle. Blakelock earned first with a time of 28.95 while Gleason and Schilp earned second and third with times of 30.28 and 21.64. Blakelock also earned a first place finish in the 500-yard freestyle, finishing with a time of 6:13.18. Her third and final individual first-place finish of the day came in the 200-yard free style. Blakelock recorded a time of 2:14.38 while Stroble finished in second with a time of 2:21.74.
 
Stroble, meanwhile, earned first in the 50-yard butterfly with a time of 33.35. DeHaven and Schilp earned second and third with respective times of 34.75 and 38.66.
 
In the 50-yard breaststroke, Gallo earned first for the Macs with a time of 46.40. Thiel, meanwhile, earned fifth with a time of 1:08.22.
 
Gallo then placed second in the 100-yard backstroke as Meyer finished in first with respective times of 1:19.72 and 1:26.21.
 
The Macs return to action next Friday for a dual-meet against Widener.
