MARYWOOD, Pa. – The Immaculata women's swimming team set a new relay record in their dual meet against Marywood on Saturday.
The 200-yard freestyle relay team of
Mary Grace MacDonald,
Colleen Blakelock,
Emily Stroble, and
Joella Moyer set a new program record while earning first place overall with their 1:55.01 finish. Jessica Kierderling,
Maya Schilp,
Courtnee Gallo, and
Cassandra Thiel meanwhile earned third place on the race with at 2:17.43 finish.
Cameron Gleason,
Breanna Kratz,
Emily Meyer, and
Kathryn DeHaven competed in the 200-yard medley relay for the Macs, finishing in second place with a time of 2:14.77.
Stroble and Kiederling kicked off the individual events for Immaculata by both setting personal records in the 1000-yard freestyle. Stroble finished in second with a 12:55.04 finish while Kiederling finished in third with a 14:17.42 finish.
Moyer, MacDonald, Gallo, and Schilp were the next to compete in the 200-yard freestyle. Moyer finished in second with a time of 2:16.02 while MacDonald, Gallo, and Schilp finished in fourth, fifth, and sixth with respective times of 2:32.90, 2:48.93, and 2:49.37. Schilp's time was good for a new personal best.
Blakelock, Gleason, Kierderling, and Thiel then competed in the 100-yard backstroke. Blakelock finished in first on the event, finishing with a time of 1:05.79. Gleason, Kiederling, and Thiel earned fourth, fifth, and sixth place with respective times of 1:14.91, 1:23.35, and 1:55.04. Kiederling and Thiel's times were both good for new personal bests.
The Macs were represented in the 100-yard breaststroke by DeHaven, MacDonald. Meyer, and Gallo, who earned second place through fifth place with respective times of 1:27.88, 1:31.31, 1:40.41, and 1:45.07. DeHaven set a new personal record on the event.
Kratz was next to compete in the 200-yard butterfly. Kratz finished third on the event with a time of 3:01.12. DeHaven, Stroble, Schilp, and Thiel then competed in the 50-yard freestyle, finishing in fourth through seventh place, respectively with times of 30.65, 30.71, 31.73, and 44.24.
In the 100-yard freestyle, Meyer, Kratz, Gallo, and Thiel earned fourth through seventh place for the Macs with respective times of 1:06.23, 1:10.15, 1:15.94, and 1:34.36.
Blakelock and Moyer then earned second and third place in the 200-yard backstroke with times of 2:23.13 and 2:30.22. Gleason also competed in the 200-backstroke, finishing in sixth with a time of 2:42.03. MacDonald and DeHaven then competed in the 200-yard breaststroke, earning second and third with respective times of 3:12.30 and 3:13.62.
Stroble, Kiederling, and Schilp were the next to compete in the 500-yard freestyle. The trio earned second, third, and fourth with respective times of 6:19.22, 7:02.77, and 8:35.50. Stroble and Kiederling also set personal records on the event.
Moyer then earned second place in the 100-yard butterfly with a new personal best time of 1:10.70. Blakelock and Gleason also competed in the 100-butterfly, finishing in fourth and fifth with respective times of 1:17.73 and 1:20.55.
Kratz and Meyer then competed in the 400-yard individual medley, finishing in fourth and fifth with times of 5:57.79 and 6:03.96.
The Macs will return to action next Saturday as they compete in a tri-meet against Bryn Mawr and Lebanon Valley.
