MARYWOOD, Pa. – Gabriel Bocaj and
John Batley set new program records as the Immaculata men's swimming team faced Marywood for an Atlantic East Conference dual meet on Saturday.
The macs' 200-yard medley relay team of
John Batley,
Kevin Lyons,
Gabriel Bocaj, and
Daniel Thiel earned first place with a time of 1:52.77.
Jeremy Brown kicked off the individual events for Immaculata, finishing in second in 1000-yard freestyle while setting a new personal record with his 12:34.80 finish. Theil then competed in the 200-yard freestyle, placing second with a time of 2:13.77.
Batley earned first place in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 57.45. Batley later set a new program record in the 200-yard backstroke, finishing in first with a time of 2:04.83.
William Lorenzo then set a new personal best in the 100-yard breaststroke, finishing in second with a time of 1:26.79. Brown also finished third in the event with a time of 1:29.90.
Bocaj then set new program records in both the 200-yard and 100-yard butterfly. First, in the 200-butterfly, Bocaj finished in first with a time of 2:05.75. He also earned first in the 100-butterfly with a time of 56.00 while Thiel placed third with a time of 1:14.83.
Lyons and Lorenzo then competed in the 50-yard freestyle, earning second and third place finishes with times of 23.78 and 28.08. Lyons then joined Bocaj in the 100-yard freestyle. Bocaj finished in first with a time of 51.54 while Lyons earned third with a time of 55.46.
Lorenzo next earned a third place finish in the 200-yard breaststroke, finishing with a time of 3:18.01. Brown, meanwhile, earned second in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:56.94.
Batley then closed out the individual events with a first-place finish in the time of 4:45.27.
With the dual meet victory on the line, the Macs were represented by Lyons, Brown, Lorenzo, and Theil in the final event: the 200-yard freestyle relay. The Macs earned second place on the event with a 1:44.30 finish as the Macs dropped the overall meet by a close score of 107-104.
Immaculata will next return to action next Saturday for a neutral site dual meet against Lebanon Valley, hosted by Bryn Mawr.
