CHESTER, Pa. – The Immaculata women's swimming team dropped their dual meet against Widener on Friday evening, losing by a score of 160-40.
The Mighty Macs' 400-yard medley relay team of
Colleen Blakelock,
Mary Grace MacDonald,
Breanna Kratz, and
Cameron Gleason placed third overall, finishing with a time of 4:52.99.
Two teams also competed in the 400-yard freestyle relay with one of those teams setting a new program record in the event. The Macs' first team consisted of MacDonald,
Emily Stroble,
Joella Moyer, and Blakelock. The team set a new program record with a 4:10.00 finish for third overall, breaking the previous record by 21 seconds. The Macs' second team on the event finished in fourth overall.
Cassandra Thiel,
Courtnee Gallo,
Jessica Kiederling, and
Maya Schilp swam a 5:09.33 time on the event.
Emily Meyer and Kiederling then represented the Macs in the 1000-yard freestyle. Meyer finished in second with a time of 13:13.99 while Kiederling finished in third, setting a new personal record in the event with a 14:30.40 finishing, shaving over 40 seconds off her previous best.
Breanna Kratz, Gallo, and Schilp were the next to compete for Immaculata, racing in the 200-yard freestyle. The contingent earned third, fourth, and fifth place with respective times of 2:29.18, 2:42.43, and 2:51.71. Schilp set a new personal best by 17 seconds on the event.
Four Immaculata swimmers entered into the 50-yard freestyle. MacDonald earned fourth for the Macs with a time of 28.79 while Gleason earned sixth with a 329.66 finish. Stroble and Thiel rounded out the event for Immaculata, earning seventh and eight with respective times of 30.01 and 42.28. MacDonald, Gleason, and Stroble all earned new personal records on the event.
Moyer competed in the 200-yard individual medley for the Macs, earning fourth place overall with a time of 2:32.30. Stroble, meanwhile, also earned fourth in the 100-yard butterfly, finishing with a time of 1:12.98.
Moyer, DeHaven, Gallo, and Thiel all competed in the 100-yard free style for the Macs, earning third through sixth place with respective finishes of 1:01.83, 1:07.99, 1:12.71, and 1:32.84. Meyer was the next to compete for the Macs, earning fifth place in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:20.20.
Next, Kratz and Gleason swam in the 500-yard freestyle, finishing in fifth and sixth with respective times of 6:40.76 and 6:48.39. Blakelock, DeHaven, and Meyer closed out the day for the Macs in the 100-yard breaststroke. The swimmers earned third, fifth, and sixth respectively with times of 1:20.32, 1:29.48, and 1:37.32. DeHaven also set a new personal record on the event.
The Mighty Macs will return to action tomorrow as they travel to Marywood for a dual meet at 1:00 P.M.
