CHESTER, Pa. – The Mighty Macs men's swimming team dropped their dual meet against Widener on Friday night by a score of 152-29.
Immaculata's relay teams set two new program records on the night. First, the 400-yard medley relay team of
John Batley,
Kevin Lyons,
Gabriel Bocaj, and
Daniel Thiel broke the previous record with their 4:06.76 finish, good for second place on the race. Meanwhile, the same team competed in the 400-yard freestyle relay, also breaking a program record with their second place 3:40.12 performance.
Individually,
Jeremy Brown kicked off the night for Immaculata with a third-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle, finishing with a time of 2:12.62. Thiel then placed fourth overall in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 27.17.
Lyons was next to compete, this time in the 200-yard individual medley. Lyons finished in second on the vent with a 2:25.38 finish, narrowly beating a Widener swimmer for second.
Boacj then broke the record for the 100-yard freestyle that he just set the previous week. His time of 50.39 was good to bump up his program record while also earning him second on the event.
Batley then closed out the night for the Macs in the 100-yard backstroke, finishing in second with a time of 58.58.
The Mighty Macs will return to action tomorrow as they travel to Marywood for an Atlantic East dual meet scheduled for 1:00 P.M.
