BALTIMORE, Md. – The Immaculata women's swimming team opened up their regular season at Goucher College where they dropped their tri-meet 140-94 against Goucher and 189-57 against Elizabethtown.
In the first event of the day,
Cameron Gleason,
Breanna Kratz,
Emily Meyer, and
Kathryn DeHaven placed in second overall in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 2:13.59. Gleason, Meyer, and DeHaven were joined by
Emily Stroble in the 200-yard freestyle where they finished with a 1:59.60 time in a fourth place finish. Courtney Gallo,
Cassandra Thiel,
Maya Schilp, and Jessica Kierderling also competed, finishing in seventh place with a 2:16.48 finish.
Stroble earned two second place finishes in the 100-yard backstroke and the 500-yard freestyle with times of 1:12.78 and 6:21.63, respectively. She then finished in third place in the 1000-yard freestyle with a 13:02.98 time for the Mighty Macs. Kierderling also competed in the 500-yard freestyle, finishing in sixth place with a 7:12.27 finish.
In the 200-yard freestyle, Meyer finished in third overall with a time of 2:19.89 while Kierderling finished in sixth with a time of 2:36.27. The pair were joined by Gallo and Thiel in the 50-yard freestyle, placing fifth, eighth, 10
th, and 12
th with respective times of 30.04, 31.18, 31.43, and 42.95.
Gleason took a third-place finish in the 50-yard backstroke for the Macs, finishing with a time of 33.82. She was joined by Thiel and Gallo who finished in seventh and eighth respectively with times of 49.24 and 58.53. Gleason also competed in the 100-yard freestyle placing fifth while finishing with a 1:06.60 time. Gallo, Schilp, and Thiel also competed, finishing in ninth, 11
th, and 12th with times of 1:14.38, 1:16.53, and 1:33.61.
Meanwhile, DeHaven and Schilp competed in the 50-yard breaststroke, finishing in fifth and sixth with respective times of 41.80 and 43.87. The pair also competed in the 100-yard breaststroke, finishing in sixth and seventh with 1:30.03 and 1:40.71 finishes.
Kratz, meanwhile, competed in the three individual events for the Mighty Macs. In the 100-yard butterfly, she finished in sixth with a 1:18.34 finish. She also placed sixth in the 50-yard butterfly and fifth in the 100-yard IM with times of 33.85 and 1:15.97, respectively.
The Macs will return to action next Saturday for a quad-meet at St. Mary's College.
