PHILADELPHIA, Pa.- The Philadelphia Sports Information Directors Association (PhillySIDA) released its men's swimming Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area selections on Monday morning and
John Batley was named to the team following a strong junior campaign.
In his junior season with the Mighty Macs, Batley set three individual program records for the Mighty Macs at the Atlantic East Championships in the 50 backstroke (27.18), 200 back (2:05.14), and 200 IM (2:09.03) while also serving as an integral member of the record-setting 400 (3:52.44) and 800 free relay (8:57.49) squads. For his career, Batley now holds seven individual records for the Immaculata men's swimming program. Batley was also a three-time Atlantic East weekly honor roll recipient this season being honored by the league on October 22, 29
th and January 21
st. Batley was also a key contributor in a pair of victories this season for the Immaculata men's swimming team.
Batley was one of seven Division III student athletes who earned spots on the Academic All-Area squad and he is also the first member of the Immaculata swim program to receive this recognition.
